Maidstone & District Riding Club

About Us

Maidstone and District Riding Club was founded in 1948, with the aim of encouraging riding in the area.  Instruction was offered at working rallies; the club ran shows and social events and outside visits.  In the 1980’s the club’s annual show was a major event offering qualifiers for the Horse of the Year Show at Wembley.

We are fortunate that one of our founding members – Peggy Skinner, is still our president.

Fundamentally we haven’t changed our vision; we still want to encourage riding in the area and currently offer lots of training at all levels and run an Eventer’s Challenge Show at Bonfleur Cross Country Course, the Ride for Life at Fairbourne Heath and a residential camp – all of which are very popular.
